Information from letter I received from Clarice Hanse--Marie Gullicksen was born March 8, 1864, Decorah, Iowa. Her mother was Larsina Gullickson and (?) father? unmarried.
Larsina was the daughter of Syvert and Martha Gullickson, Decorah, Iowa. They had a farm by Big Canoe church someplace as Marie was baptized and confirmed there.
Syvert and Martha raised Marie on the farm. The picture that I sent of Martha Gullickson, Larsina Johnson and Marie Gullickson - three generation picture -- was taken after Syvert's death. Marie probably being taken to live with her mother.
Andrew Twidt and Marie Gullicksen probably knew each other as youngsters as they both were baptized at Big Canoe. We would certainly like to hear if you could find any information on either the Syvert Gullicksen family or the Twidt/Andersen family.
We are interested in the family of Andrew Johnson Skaaren/Larsina Gullicksen. We see by the information you sent that Marie was not acknowledged as a child of Larsina Gullicksen.
Was Martha buried by Syvert at the Big Canoe Cemetery? Were there any more of that family besides Larsina?
